Retro,

GS stuff only. I couldn't go in depth about LS stuff as I don't own an LS!

Allen,

If you need to contact me, send me an email to the address below.

Default Count me in

I want one too.
Percy, I think color pictures will look cleaner since a lot of wires and parts will have different colors etc might make explaining less difficult.

Some setbacks...

I found out today that Toyota/Lexus has a copyright on the schematics that I usually send by request. Can't use them in the book or I face lawsuit if they're serious. So, I have to hand draw and rearrange them in somehow as not to step on their toes. Better safe than sorry.

Peter,

I'll have to wait until I get the entire book done first and then get a price on color. The number of pages can raise the cost plus the cost of drilling the pages for the coil spine that I have in mind. Everything is planned for color but the B&W is a fallback plan, just in case. Hi res stuff, original negative scans using Photoshop. If I can't find the negs or original prints then I'll have to use the compressed ones.

Update...

Just took a few more pictures to make things clearer for the deinstallation process. Power wiring routing, front door, rear door and rear seat area teardowns. Also sent some of the medium format negs to have them printed up. Shooting medium format (60mm x 70mm) vs 35mm is expensive!

Should get the pics back by Wednesday of next week. Custom stuff (color match, density, etc.)

Another update...

Just got the film back (not all of it though). Finished the descriptions for the front speaker midwoofer and tweeter installations as well as the teardown for the front doors.

So the list of what to do next...
Crossover theory
Rear door teardown & installation
SUBWOOFER recommendations, install, rear deck teardown and installation
Wiring power and interconnects, power routing
Amplifier theory and installation
Line Level converters
CONSOLE tear down and install with wiring harness
Head Unit recommendations, installation w/template for head unit faceplate
Some mod pics for the BIG amp (MC4000M)

This thing is probably going to be 50 pages by the time I'm done. Maybe more. Is there anything else I missed?

Sasha,

Line level converters will be covered as well as the stock head unit and disassembly of the main console area. I'll try to get it ready before xmas, but no guarantees. There's still ALOT of material to cover!

BTW...Gene is helping out and he has to take some pics for the subwoofer enclosure and mail them to me as his scanner bit the big one. This is combined effort for both of us! But, I'll be doing the format, most of the pics and most of the writing. Gene is definitely the specialist when it comes to SPL.

If it doesn't come out before xmas, don't get disappointed. Like all good things, they're worth the wait.

Good one! I'll probably touch lightly on those. I'm running an Optima but am not using a cap. No need to since the power supplies are tightly regulated with the Mc's.

Percy
On page 29 so far...just finishing up xovers. Next stop...rear door speaker installation and rear deck installation.

Anyone have a running bet on the total # of pages?
