I want to try this but I'm a n00b at wiring. What I don't understand is the 12v acc in the diagram. Where exactly does it connect to and what does it do?

The 12v acc is to energize the coils in the relays so that it can do the switching. You can normally find this wire on your amp connector. U can use a voltmeter to look for it.

Ok, so I am not new to dismantling cars and rebuilding them but I got a problem. I have an '01 GS3. My wire colors/positions didn't match what was posted. I followed the colors instead b/c the wires in a needed position looked more like a ground strap... I am testing it and getting sound out of the right side only and the volume control on the phone affects the volume level on the car? Any help or ideas? BTW I am using my Crackberry and not an iPod, but I doubt that matters. The speaker phone it creates is pretty cool though. The switch works fine cd off and aux when it is on.

It is the non M/L stereo. The amp is mounted vertical to the lower right of the CDC. There is a 12 pin (black) and 8 pin (orange) and two white 8 or so pin connectors below. I attached a pic of it (the back) and the order of the wires hopefully that helps. I also noticed the cd bleeding through with the phone unplugged and the volume at max, but I assume that is from the wiring issue.
