This is an awesome thread. I just wired this up on my 96 SC400 and it works great!! I don't usually post much...but I have to hand it to you, nice work! I have been looking for an AUX option for awhile for two reasons: 1. tape adapter broke 2. Was never satisfied with the tape adapter sound quality. This method is far superior and highly suggested to anyone who is second guessing.

I've searched this thread and every other applicable fourm on this site. TIS won't allow Canadian subscriptions.
Can someone please give me the correct wiring diagram or harness pinouts for a 2000 LS400 w/ Nakamichi?
I have everything else togther. This is all I need.

Need some help.
I did this on my 97 sc400 with nakamichi system.
I tapped into cd changer 10 pin plug.
CD R+ = B1 black
CD L+ = B2 Blue
CD R- = B5 White
CD L- = B6 Red
and got ACC off of B3 Green/black
i set normally close to be aux.
when i turn the switch on, cd plays for a few seconds and turns to radio.
its not really a problem cuz i don't use cd player.
another more serious problem is that right channel is not loud at all.
i thought maybe +/- is wrong and when i unplug + wire, it got louder.
but still sub is not working when i pan to right only...
also, when i pause mp3 player, i can hear the noise from cd player, seems like cd changer's cd spinning noise.
please someone help me with this problem.
thanks

it was actually the left channel that is not loud.
but i got it to be almost as loud as right channel.
still, when i pan to left, i am not getting sub to work and base on door speakers are not very loud.
since im using the aux as normally close, i removed acc power and ground hoping it will get the noise away, but im still getting the noise when mp3 is off or paused.
radio sounds normal from both channel, so it has to be the aux connection i added.
since right channel get the full sound with sub working for it, it doesn't sound as bad, but i really wanna get this straightned out.
please someone, help me.

ok little late to this thread but have a few questions...
as far as electrical things go on DIY's i suck and i am a bit scared to start cutting into wires...
what i have is a factory system and cd changer.
so here's what i want to do---
get to play my ipod by hooking it up to the cd changer and also if it's possible to have it charged at the same time..
what exact parts do i need and where can i get them?
where's my factory amp and does anyone know how i go about doing this mod?
thank you!!!!

Yeah you can get an Ipod cable that has the 2 RCA audio outs and the usb plug. You then just buy an ipod car charger and wire it directly to your car. You can find stuff like that in eBay or Apple Store if you want more high end stuff.

It's not working !! Please help.
I have a 1993 LS400 and have an ipone 3G
Did the relay setup with the 3.5mm to RCA cable and it does not work.
I did it all the splicing at the back of the Head unit.
When I select the CD button, the CD starts to play but when I flip the SPST Toggle switch, NO sound !! I have tried it on both Normally Open and Normally closed in the relays.
I don't know if I should try that 2 AUDIO, 1 VIDEO, USB Cable from Apple Store???
Is there anything at the LCD display that would indicate that I using the Iphone as Aux input. Please any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
