I did it all the splicing at the back of the Head unit.

When I select the CD button, the CD starts to play but when I flip the SPST Toggle switch, NO sound !! I have tried it on both Normally Open and Normally closed in the relays.

I don't know if I should try that 2 AUDIO, 1 VIDEO, USB Cable from Apple Store???

Is there anything at the LCD display that would indicate that I using the Iphone as Aux input. Please any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
others have reported that you need the proper cable but it could just as easily be that you didnt put the RCA jacks together properly

Not sure what type of cable he is using but the Iphones need the original Apple cable in order for them to output audio from the RCA's. I guess there's some type of chip inside them that makes them work.

Those generic ones from ebay wont cut it.

It worked !!!!

Thank you PD and all
My wires from headunit were in the wrong pole at the relays. I studied the wiring diagram from PureDrifter and realized that I had connected then in the wrong spot.

This is so cool !!!

One issue though, after I was playing my iphone for about 10 min, my battery died, car wouldn't start. anybody have had this issue?? Is it normal ???

Thanks.

make an attempt to find your car's wiring diagram and ask specific questions instead of just saying
"i want to do this and need help"

then, maybe, someone will consider helping you.

good good, now go check the 12v line you tapped for shorts.

it might have just been that you spent all that time listening to musiic while doing the mod without the engine running that it drained the battery, but always helps to check the wiring

do you still need that if you're using a 3.5mm jack from the headphone output o.O?

Nope, only when you use the IPOD connector to get the low line audio signal.

I've read through this whole thread, and I'd love to be able to do a mod like this to use my iPod without a lame casette adapter. I understand that it wont work if the head unit wont switch to CD. I've got a 92 SC4, with the Pioneer CD player. Does anyone know if there has to be a magazine present in the CD player for the head unit to switch? The CD player appears to power on, but there was no CD magazine when I bought the car, so I dont know if its working correctly or not. Thanks.
