Post Problem With Memory Settings for Seat, Mirrors, et al

My memory settings (located on the driver's door) for the seat, mirrors and steering wheel are not working. I closely followed the instructions in the manual(ignition in "on" position, car not running, holding the "set" and "1" or "2" button simultaneously, etc.) but to no avail. When I push either button nothing happens. Does anyone know what I should check first in diagnosing the problem? Is there a common problem with this system which may be easily corrected. I would appreciate any insight.

hi terry,
I had similar problem when I got my car.

When I open the door panel, memory seat plug was not attached.?? and I pluged in and it's worknig..
I even asked dealer to look at it, they didn't even fix this ????

Power mirror, I probably need to change the ECU.

but I heard from dealer that Memory seat and power side mirror is somewhat related. but I'm not sure.

I dont know about steering wheel.

let me know if you solve your problem.

Question Brake?

Terry - Mine doesn't work unless the foot brake's depressed & all the other parameters U mentioned are addressed. Not sure that's in the owner's manual - wife's got the car right now. Also seems to work better for me if I depress the "Set" button before the numbered button of choice even though the manual says differently. Might try these methods & then proceed to the dealership if all else fails. Good luck!
