I recently bought a key FOB for my 96 sc300 because it didnt come with one. It works except when I arm and unarm, there's no audible chirp. The horn is there (by the engine), but it doesn't do anything. Any guesses, OLT maybe? lol

Its not supposed to chirp. I wish it would, so I can know when it locks and unlocks. I have to be standing next to the car to hear the power locks.

mine has a beep sound that beeps once when it locks and twice when it unlocks, but it doesnt come from the horn, it is a very high pitched chirp and im not sure where it comes from, i just wish my lights would flash or something instead. btw mine is a 95

My 95 chirped, my 94 doesnt.. I guess some come with it and some dont. Just get an aftermarket alarm system and make it do whatever you want.

My 98 400 headlight blinks and beeps (has the unlock, lock and trunk release on the key) but my 92 is silent and you ahev to put the key very close eto the door.

Hmm... do all come with factory alarm? I bought a 94 SC400 and the guy I bought it from didn't have the original key, or at least it doesn't look original, no "L" logo on it. I've seen pics of the key and supposedly there's a button on it. So does mine come with one? Do I need to go to the dealer and get a new key to get it working?

i know it's supposed to chirp, it's a 96 sc300 with separate FOB (opens trunk also), the separate horn just for that is located by the strut in front of the driver side (right next to the intake manifold)
