AMP turn on/off gone bad how to fix it...
My amp on/off signal is not working. I think it is the reciever going bad.
How can I replicate it to turn on the amplifier. I tried running 12volts to it and it did not turn on..
Any other recommendations..
Thanks,
Scott

Scott,
It can either be the receiver (head unit) or the amp. Sometimes the "switch" (transistor) gets toasted after a lot of use, unlikely though. Best way to test out the amp-take the 12 volt positive and hook it directly to the remote ON terminal. If there are no lights or no power on indications, then you have a bad amp.
Also, to find out if it's the head unit gone bad, take a multimeter. One terminal should go to ground, another should be on the Remote On. If you're not getting power then something burned out within the head unit.
Let me know how it goes.
