Anyone replace their sub for the GS350 yet? I have the Mark Levinson and I want more punch for my system but i do not know what subs will fit at that location. I want soemthing good so please give me your suggestion as to what will fit there. Thanks in advance.

 

no aftermarket subs are 16 ohms so best to get sepearate aftermarket amp and sub and leave factory system alone. . the right and left channells are running into the levinson amp so tapping those two wires will get you the signal to send to aftermarket sub amp.

 

That's a very BROAD statement. One example to dispute your claim would be the Dayton DVC310-88. Wire the 8 ohm voice coils in series for a 16 ohm final load. There are dozens of other examples like this. It just takes a little searching to find them.

ok you wont find an 10 inch aftermarket sub easily that is matching the 16 ohms and is rated at 80 watts which is a low watt, high efficiency speaker. the 12 inch dayton dual voice coil speaker dvc310-88 you mention is sold about 5 miles from me at parts express in dayton ohio. it is rated at 350 watts and will not function better than original sub when 80 watts applied it it by the mark levinson amp.

 

I'm not planning on using the factory amp, so which sub would you recommend that would fit at the factory location?
