Get a variable speed Dremel and turn the speed notch to 2 or 3 to cut the plastic without melting it.

They also now make plastic cutting wheels as a Dremel accessory.

Forget the Dremmel. There is an easy trick to this!
1) Tape up the underside of the ABS panel to be cut. Use Duct tape!
2) Score the ABS with an awl or cutter to mark your lines
3) Cut along these lines with a Jigsaw. Any speed will do.

You will not only have a nice, clean, smooth cut but it will not melt at all or damage the finish of the ABS. I've been doing this for years and its the best way. Oh, it will work with plexi as well.

Good luck!

You can use pretty much anything you want. Dremel will work, jig saw, small precison hack saw works well too. even a razor knife. If you will see the edges, make sure you sand them down flush, then take a lighter or heat gun and melt them just a little bit. It makes them look much much better.
