Default having trouble with door speakers

I installed some new 6.5's in the door and the window won't roll down all the way . And in the process of that something metal hit the wires and my head unit started smoking . Does anyone have any suggestions on how to mount the speakers so this wont happen again.

Geez-- That BITES!!

You should measure the factory pod and test fit the mid to the back of the door panel to determine how far forward and at what specific angle you can mount your 6.5's --

Some mdf plates with some angled rings should be able to offset them far enough out to clear the window AND aim the mids a little too--
