Default Stock speakers in another car?

I'm going to be upgrading my sound system pretty soon and want to sell my stock system. Can I simply sell the stock amp from the trunk and the speakers themselves to my friend and he simply replaces his amp and speakers with it? Is it as simple as that? Or, are there other considerations he has to make as to whether it will work in his car?

On the flip side, is there anything else I'll need or can I just buy a new amp and 13 new speakers? I don't want to do a complete overhaul with subs, etc. Just want better quality speakers that have more clarity.

why would you need 13 new speakers?

Sorry, this thread was originally started in the 2IS forum but it got moved. To clarify, I have the stock system in an IS350. The IS has 13 speakers. I probably won't replace all 13. I might keep the stock sub. But forget the actual # of speakers. Is it as simple as replacing the stock amp and stock spreakers and putting in new ones?

Does anyone know if the 2IS has a separate amp for the stock sub and speakers?

if you get rid of the stock amplifier you're going to be hard pressed to find something aftermarket that will run all of those speakers the same way.

your best bet would be to go with some sort of a 5.1 setup to get close to what the ML system is
