Stock Sub buzzing
I Have a 2000 GS300 and recently upgraded my stereo because of the way the stock amp was I lost the use of my sub. So yesterday I started installing a amp but when I connected the amp to the stock sub it started making a wierd buzzing noise even before the music started. Can someone help???

Be sure you have a good clean ground to the chassis of the car-- sand off the paint where it's grounded also--
Does it buzz when the car's running only or whether it's running or not?
Is it high pitched and corresponds to the rpm's??

Thanks for the response. It buzzs as soon as I turn on the stereo and the car is off.(engine). Its not like a ground wining noise. Its more like a buzz. Is the sub a different ohm then the other speakers?

Well -- in the SC's the stock sub is 1 ohm -- the quickest way to find out is to read the bottom of the magnet-- if there's nothing written there- buy a $5 mini multimeter at radio shack (can I say that? ) and take a reading-- Those are very handy to keep around anyhow--
