Default Help regarding the Fosgate Rockford 3 Sixty

So, after a ton of research, I've been told that this product will give me the auxiliary line-in I'm looking for. The device is $400, though. I'm wondering if anyone here is using this, and how it will work with my factory audio system. I have to upgrade in small steps, and I'm wondering if this is definitely the first step to take. Will I hear an audible difference (a better one) in sound quality with it, or are new speakers/amp really required for that? I know nothing about car audio, and so I don't really understand what the Rockford does for my sound besides remove the factory EQ. I have an '03 ES300

i would go with a soundgate piece over the 3sixty if you're only looking for aux in capabilities.

The 3sixty is a highly advanced way to integrate amplifiers into your factory radio situation. so for instance you don't want to remove your factory radio you can integrate the 3sixty to allow you to add amplifiers, new speakers, subwoofers, etc, etc, etc. you also tune the unit with a bluetooth enabled pda or laptop

Well, it seems as if the Soundgate piece isn't compatible with my '03 ES300 w/out Nav. I've found the Rockford online for about the same price as the Soundgate, too. In addition, I fully plan on upgrading the speakers and amp later, so maybe the Rockford is the way to go?

Geez-- $400?? Just to add amps and an aux input??

Do you have a cd changer??

If you do you're in luck, you just need to find your low level signal lines from the changer to the head unit-- voila-- tap into them-- plug in your ipod-- listen-- enjoy--

See-- that was easy--

Puredrifter has a great writeup for a gs, but it works for an ls and sc--- it can be done in anything though-- just needs a changer in the mix--

DONT GET THE 3 SIXTY!!! i have it, spent $600 on it and regret it. Not only do u have to spend the $ on the unit itself, but u have 2 get a bluetooth device that will control it if u dont already have something and thats another $150-300 depending on what u buy. Now there r 2 diff. units, 360.1 which has about 15 eq. for front and rear spaekers and 5 sub. 360.2 has 35 for the fronts, 32 for the rear and 15 sub plus time delay and aux. input (which by the way if you use you have to use a seperate volume control that comes with the 360!) B smart, do your homework, look 4 aftermarket stuff. I have 98 GS400, kept stock HU, bought ROCK 360.2=$599, Dynamite Aud D6 fronts D3 rear=$520, Kenwood sub W2511=$75(which is supposed 2b free air...build a box and put in trunk do replace free air stock subs!) Kicker ZX 650.4= $300, ZX300.1=$150. NOW i wanna replace the stock HU with PANASONIC CQ-VD6505=$650($50 more than the 360.2) it has Dobly surround 4 ALL music not just DVD. The $550 i spent on the speakers i coulve added some $ and gotten THE BEST IVE EVER HEARD Boston Acoustic SPZ(online for $800) and now i have to re-arrange my whole system, more money for sub box and amp rack and RCA's cuz of that damn ROCKFaRT 360. if u need 2 ask me anything, mikepf68@yahoo.com

FWIW>.....

I just had the 360 installed today after several attempts to get the sub working worth a damn in an 06 IS350 with ML....

The 360 is required, or a similar device, in order to get a decent signal from the stock HU. The stock unit has a progressive cut off and chokes out any usable range for just a "tap in and go" applications. You need to line-sum and then draw upon the 5v RCA's for the signal.

It was the only thing that worked out out 8 hours of experimenting at the audio shop......My car was their " lets see what works best" test bunny....got the labor for mucho cheap B/C of that....

Wow-- An audiocontrol 2xs or eql is only about $45~ $100 and both are 9v rms -- would achieve the same result--

FWIW --

At least it works for you though--

I had to step up my stock head unit voltage as well and just used a 2xs I picked up for $25--

I'm tapping into the full range left and right front low level signals in a 92 SC4 and it works flawlessly--

I combined that with the cd changer aux input hack and jam mp3's all the time --
