Default 2nd Gen GS and Dension or Soundgate for iPod

I've been researching for weeks and found out that these two companies have an iPod solution for my (98 GS w/ Nakamichi) GS.
Has anyone tried Soundgate or Dension's iPod thing for a 2nd GS? Soundgate needs a 30dollar iPod dock connector if you want charge though...

If so...
whats required for installation? is it plug and play?
how well does it work?
and do -01 GS owners finally have a plug-n-play iPod solution??
oh yeah, and how much did you pay??

As far as i knew, i am the only person who makes a proper iPod adapter for the mk2 gs -01

Unlikely mine will work on the Nakamichi though as it emulates the Pioneer changer.

So if I go with this, does that mean I no longer have use of my CD anymore? If thats the case, this is not a good solution for me. There are still times when I want to listen to my CDs which give me WAY better sound than the compressed sounds of my iPod...

...and no, I have no intention of going back and re-ripping 1000's of songs to a higher compression rate. :-)
