My Carputer in Action
A lot of people have been asking to see what the carputer can do. I did a quick demo of just some of the things I use on a daily basis.
Here is a spec list of the carputer:
7" Xenarc Touchscreen
Epia M10000 motherboard
512mb ram
200gb HD
Opus 150w vehicle power supply
Runs on Windows XP with FrodoPlayer carputer front end. Going 3 years strong! ZERO PROBLEMS!
Anyways, enough talk, here's the video, more to come later!

Slight warning on 50 Cent's Disco Inferno video...

Frodo is completely free! Another very good front end is Road Runner (also free!), I am working on that right now, fully customizing the buttons/layout...

This setup does not work like factory setups. I can use it anytime during driving. The power supply I use resumes the carputer from hibernation when I start the car and puts it back into hibernation when I remove the key.
Thanks for all the compliments! I'm hoping this would get more people into carputers ...modifications/functionality is pretty much endless depending on your hardware setup...
Trying to setup cameras front & rear to record for fun while driving...
Also, stickin' a 24" widescreen monitor in the trunk for 4-player MAME action

Looks good. I'm running almost the same thing in my RX300 with Road Runner. How are you getting your audio into your amp? I just tapped into my wires at the cd changer and it works great on my Ipod but when I plug into the PC it doesn't sound too good. It's the unbalanced to balanced problem. I'm looking for a isolation box now to fix that.
