How do you mix custom paint and then use cans?

Nice color match and work.

But why did you not flush out the fitment of the head unit a little tighter?

i think it would have looked a little bit strange to have it go in right there where the headunit comes in. it was a toss up for me either way.

Suneet - If you have a color you want let me know and I can have the guy mix some up for you. Paint usually runs like $20-30 a can for the custom mixed stuff

Yeah I want to get paint that will match my leather 100%. I'm ordering some vinyl that matches it, so when I get that vinyl, I'll send you some pieces of it to match. Thanks a lot.

For the wood grain.. you could probably just sand it down a little bit, primer and paint right over the existing piece..

yeah hook me up with a piece of the vinyl and i'll have him make up a can for ya. I'm debating on what to do with all of the wood grain around the top of the dash and doors. I might just keep it how it is, but the wood grain is definitly coming off of the climate controls, just haven't pulled it off yet.

Bondo or body filler is much easier to deal with in a semi-soft state. Wait until the bondo has started to harden to a consitency of cheese. Then you can sand, grate or 'carve' the bondo to get rid of most of the excess.

My bodyman gives me all of his secrets.

Why did you get rid of your ashtray? Looks kinda weird with that big plain spot...

Nice work though...

because I have no use for it, my bass **** was down in there but I figured I would just get rid of the whole thing.

I may put guages or something down in there when I get around to doing a motor swap.

did you sand threw the original paint on there. i tried to peel it off once and man it sucks. the factory paint was in a very rubbery state. so it seemed like it would be easy.

yup, sanded it all down using a pretty mean grit, prior to doing any of the plastic work or super gluing.
