iPhone and Lexus Bluetooth?
I'm thinking about an iPhone. Unfortunately, Apple isn't saying, at least not yet, whether it'll be compatible with anyone's Bluetooth stuff aside from their own headset. This is a deal-breaker for me; I'm not going to get rid of a $45K car for a $600 phone, no matter how insanely great it may be.
Anyone heard anything about this one way or another? For those of you reading this after getting an iPhone, has it worked with your car?

Glad to hear it. How comparable is the 2005 LS to the 2007 RX, Bluetooth-wise? (I know I should have been more specific when I first asked...) Apparently, the 2007 RX is picker than other Bluetooth kits, but I know little about the 2005s.

iPhone works great with the LS460. Signal Strength and battery info shows. I have not checked if it can send phone book entries. The transfer from handset to car and back works from the iPhone at all times (from the Lexus screen only when stoppe).
At least in Los Angeles, some Apple stores had as many iPhones as consumers wanted without hardly any wait after the initial rush and also during Saturday.

Folks on the Apple iPhone support forum are reporting success with both a 2007 LS460 and a 2007 IS350. Looks like I shouldn't have trouble with my RX350.
Now, if they'd get push email working with Microsoft Exchange or Blackberry Enterprise Server, I'd jump...

iphone/07rx
Yes the iphone works great in the 07rx. I paired my wifes iphone with her 07 RX400 no problem. The
connected device even came up as "marilyn's
iphone".
as Steve Jobs would say, "How cool is that"

iPhone and IS 350 Works Great!
We have a 2006 IS 350 with Nav and ML. iPhone works perfectly with all bluetooth features except the ability to download the phonebook since there is no "send" command on the iPhone.
We also have the VasTech iPod adapter and it also works perfectly with the iPhone, we get full iPod playlist control, AND the phone functions, no need to use airplane mode.
In short, the iPhone rocks and we don't need to dedicate an iPod to this car any longer!

I know several people have reported success with the iPhone, and mine pairs with my 2004 LS430, connects, dials, etc., but two key things don't work:
- the ringer doesn't "ring through" to the car speakers (like my Nokia E61 did)
and
- when making a call from the quick dial screen on the Nav, there is a 3-second "feedback" buzz sound before the call is connected.
Anyone else out there have these problems? If so or if not, what is the fix?
