Pioneer Nav install on 1999 GS400 with Nakamichi, is this possible?
Hey Guys,
I've devoted a lot of time and effort on researching this lately, but I have been unable to definitively figure this out on my own. Is is possible to wire a double din in dash NAV system such as the Pioneer (AVIC-D3), using the factory Nakamichi Amp?
Crutchfield and Circuit City seem to think this isnt possible, i've searched the forums and the answers seem inconsistent.
Also, does a wiring harness exist out there which allows the aftermarket unit to interface with the Nakamichi harness without having to splice all the wires?
Finally, can the factory 6cd changer be salvaged?
I really would prefer not to have to bypass all the factory components to get this done, your help and input would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Links to sites selling these items would be helpful
Thanks

Hey Man,
Sorry to have to do this but, there is no harness for this radio. I had the same setup in my GS as well.
I ran a few searches and came up with some info:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...amichi+diagram (Required wiring)
Hopefully this helps.

Don't worry guys. Not having a harness isn't a big deal. When I first installed my aftermarket HU, I didn't know there was a harness for my car.. I tapped all the wires.
And then when I installed my Clifford Alarm.. I tapped a ton of wires.
Its not tough at all. Don't let that scare you.
