Remove stock Nav and replace with CarPC
I have a 98 GS400 w/ Navigation I'm needing to upgrade with a CarPC for business reasons. I will be selling the Nav unit to help offset the costs of the install. I have installed a few carpc's, so I'm familiar with that battle, but what I need to know is:
1. What all needs to be removed to have a complete Nav system to sell? (including wiring and the harddrive) Will interior carpet or dash need to be removed?
2. How difficult will it be to install a stock climate control unit from a non-Nav GS400? Are brackets needed? Will the wiring harness need to be replaced/modded?
3. Will I need brackets to mount the double-din dash kit from Carsons? (I will be modding the kit to fit the 7" Lilliput screen I'll be using.
I think that's all for now. Would appreciate any help/ideas you can offer!

I've thought of going the exact same route, as I'm tired of the outdated NAV data, and yearn for more functionality.
I want a WindowsXP-based system with DVD playback, MP3 hard-drive, Microsoft Street/Trips/GPS, OBD2 integration, wireless internet, etc. A call to local auto yards will yield a climate unit, and then you can install a computer screen with a double DIN kit.
keep this string going, and get a great DIY guide with pics. If I get to it first, I'll do the same...
Cheers!
