bypass ML amp for GS350
Hi, i'm getting my car installed with new aftermarket speakers and amps. My installer is having a problem with the factory amp. They said that they need to use the factory amp in order to keep all functions for my ML HU. The problem they are having is that the amp goes into protect (mute, no power) when the factory speakers are not plug in.
Anyone know how to get around this? I'm having new subs, speakers, 2 new amps and a cleansweep. The only thing i'm using that is stock is the HU. The sub we did LOCs on it and it works ok. It's just going through the factory amp that is giving us problems. This is a 07 GS350. And if you know what other type of cars have this same type of amp please let me know also.

I assume that all ML systems work the same. Based on that, there's a great thread on ICIX on upgrading an ML system. It's on an IS 350 but the method should be very similar. link. The link I posted is for questions and answers. The insall log link is in the first post of that thread on the 3rd line. Yes, it is a little over the top, but it is a show car.
