Default Audio setup..couple of questions

hey so i just ordered my sub box for a single 12 inch im runnin an alpine type r 2 ohm with a 600 watt alpine amp..and i have a question about the head unit..how do i remove it? i want to remove the plastic part around it too and modify it to put in an Alpine dvd head unit with the lcd display screen..would that be difficult to do?

Theres an Audio forum for this stuff. I'm sure its been covered, good luck with the install though!

alright buddy I'll help you out here a little...i think there may be a thread also in here with pics on removing the headunit, just do little search...anyways, this is all from memory(but I've got a good one lol)

1. put the car in N and put the parking brake on..then slide the bottom of the shifter(black plastic) straight down and this will expose two screws.remove and this will allow you to remove the plastic plate showing what gear you are in (Park, drive, reverse etc..
2.remove the cup holder (the one right infront of the center console) now you will see a bunch of screws holding the the big trim peice that goes around the stereo/climate control etc..remove all the screws and pull it sraight out..then you will see the screws which are holding the headunit it..remove them and you are good to go..

this may be confusing but it really isnt hard at all.
