Default After Market Audio System and NAV

Hello I searched through the threads and could not find an answer to my question. I recently purchased an IS last month with NAV. The salesman said that installing any after market audio will mess up the NAV. Is that true? Thanks.

He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. If you're just after better sound and just want to drop in some aftermarket speakers, then the NAV will be just fine. You can even hook up an amp, provided that it's done right, and still have the NAV be ok.

What are you system goals?

Thanks for the response Percy. I was only thinking of simple speakers, amp and sub but what the dealer said sort of scared me since this is my first car purchased. Thanks again.
