Default 2007 IS w/premium sound questions

Hi, newbie here. I'm looking to add some additional bass to the std stereo setup in a 2007 IS250. After some searching on the boards, I found what seems to be what I'm looking for. It's from elemental designs... http://www.edesignaudio.com/edv2/index.php They have an enclosure and 10" subwoofer. The price would be about $300 for sub and enclosure.

So here are my questions... does the new sub need an additional amp or can I connect to the existing amp? If I can connect to the existing amp, is this easy to do... can I disconnect the factory sub and connect the new one? I don't have any experience in this area but if relatively easy I'd like to try doing myself.

Any other alternatives for an easy install and reasonably priced?

Thanks!

You do need a seperate amp, what model speaker are you using? Because our cars are damped and sealed so well, you need some pretty good power and a speaker that can move quite a bit of air to get loud.

Remove the factory sub
Tap into the leads going to it with a line output converter
Power cable ran to battery and fused at the battery
tap into the remote lead on the factory amp to have the amp turn on with the car.
