For the Pioneer stereo gurus on the boards here. I have an Avic N1 and I want to upgrade to the D3 system or Z series deck.
Are the connections the same from one to another? If so, I'd like to just swap out the head units and go from the single din kit to the Carson double-din kit.
I already have the xm radio antenna and gps antenna installed and all the nav functions work on the Avic n1 fine, I just want to know what is involved with swapping.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the AVICN1 and AVICD3 have different wiring harness. The Z-series also uses a different harness. So you will need to rewire the harness. The N1 also has a separate "brain" while the D3 and Z-series does not. The XM and Navigation antenna should work with both. good luck!

If you are doing a D3 or Z1, Z2, check out www.avic411.com for bypass helps and software updates.
