uhm i have a 93 with no transponder. i went to my locksmith in lake forest, illinois and he made me 4 keys. cost 40 bucks total, including the blanks. i gave him my original key, he took blanks off the hook, and cut them all in about 5 minutes. i used them all on my car right away and they all worked. the older sc's...probably 97 and older dont have a chip. the only thing the key would have is the keyless entry button, which is not a chip that would work with a computer as anti-theft.

Made a correction to my original post....should have read 98 - 00 for the transponders. Sorry for the confusion.

I have the same issue, my 1993 SC300 only had one remote master key when I bought it. It even worked once I replaced the battery. I will probably go with the deal at Sewell if it is better than the dealership. I've been guarding my lone key with my life since I bought the car. I just don't understand how a Lexus car owner could possibly lose the keys to their pride and joy! Good information everyone, thanks!

Anyone know if a 3-button remote from, say, '97 SC can be programmed to work on a '98+ SC?

If yes, where would instructions be?
(FYI: Sewell has some basic details on programming. Has anyone tried?)

Thanks!

* Ah! It is a different url than the one on the "resellers" page; sewellparts online.com *Needs to be updated

www.lexus-parts.com working for anybody? The site worked very slow yesterday, and today it is completely inaccessible. ??? If they are down for good (maybe?), I don't see other vendors in the list that give the option for a duplicate key...

No problem with keys bought on ebay even though they were longer than original-The transponder was swapped though-does anyone know the theory of the transponders which must be possible to remanufacture to suit

I have a key problem too.

When I bought my is300 it only came with 1 key.Out of all the keys of course the previous owners lost all of them but the valet key.

Is there some way I can get a new master key programmed to work with it? Lexus stealership told me it would be around $500+ I also dont have the title since im paying on the car.I just wanna have a key with the lock/unlock features.

If it has a transponder im not sure, i have a programmer comming for them but dont know how much the blanks are going to be. I program all domestic transponder keys for $35 so the lexus will probably run around $60 when i get them in... If you want one with a key pad then you have to goto the dealer...
Where are you located in Florida.I need to have a blank cut for my 95 LS

Default Computer chip car keys in Toronto

Here in Toronto, a guy in Dollar Store (west end of Toronto, Finch/Weston) made my computer chip car key at a price much cheaper than Dealership.
