Amp just goes into protect mode
I just got my system put in yesterday and the guys at the shop said the amp is no good... and its brand new. THey have the other amp hooked up and its running my sub. The capacitor is hooked up and is working fine. But its the 4 channel thats not working. Should I get another one like they said to do and return this one? Or what could cause it to go into protection. btw Im using the stock radio till i get the carputer in, and they left the stock amp and sub in which I told them to take out.

Very possible an amp can be dead out of the box. Not many companies bench test their amps before sending them out so a bad one could pass through QC now and then. The place you bought it from shouldn't give you much fuss over getting a replacement.

its a volfenhag 4channel amp... yea no name but ive used them b4. Its pretty good. I have a 2channel running a jl sub, its the 4 channel that doesnt work. I just ordered another one and hopefully that one is good and just return the dead one back in the new box

As said, its possible that the amp is just DOA. I would say check wiring but not if another amp is working fine. We installed a brand new gothic series 2 months ago and had the same exact problem. Swapped the amp out with a replacement of the same model and just plugged it back in and it worked perfectly. If you bought the amp new you should definantly get it exchanged. If its a used amp you may be buying a new one.
