JL and Jensen. That's an odd combination. Kind of like going to a nice restaurant and ordering steak, lobster and a bottle of Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill wine.

Which wires are you wanting advice on? Power wires? Speaker wires? RCA cables? Monster is a good brand but you pay a premium price for them. There are other manufacturers that have equivalent products for much less.

That is indeed an odd combination. Anyways you don't need Monster cables. They are way overpriced. As mention you can get similiar or even better products for much cheaper. Just stick with some of the well known brands and you should be fine (Kicker, stinger, streetwires...ect). And you'll definitely want atleast 4 gauge power cables for that amp.

run at least a 4awg to the 1000/1

not a bad sub and amp combo for your first system, but the jensen? I'm just going to refrain from comment on that one, I'm guessing it is a screen.

since your headunit doesn't have higher voltage outputs I wouldn't worry too much about the RCAs you use, it's going to be loud no matter what.

alpine, kenwood excelon, pioneer

look for something with a 4-5v RCA preout especially if you plan on adding an amp for your speakers

preout voltage doesnt really effect much as long as his amplifier gain settings are correct. For your headunit I would stick with either an Alpine/Pioneer/Eclipse/Kenwood for Indash TVs

There are alot of brands that make good cables. I personly use the Stinger expert series for my power wire. But www.knukonceptz.com has some really good wire and RCAs for the price. I use the Krystal RCA series.

actually the voltage output can have a big effect. compare a regular 2v alpine to a 5v Kenwood or Eclipse, or even an 8v Eclipse and tell me which sounds better.
