Default Amp on but VERY little noise coming from sub

Hey guys I just got done doing my subwoofer install. I powered everything up and the amp came on perfectly. No protection mode or anything. I the proceeded to turn on some music. The subwoofer didn't play loud at all. There is a little vibration coming out of the sub but nothing really. The amp is a JBL GTO 1201.1 and the sub is a TC-1000 12".

There are some little ***** on my hi/lo converter that i'm not too sure what to do with. Also i'm not too sure how to adjust my amp.

I don't have a gain setting either only

Input level
X over frequency
Bass boost

Is there like some mode on the bose stereo to allow a sub or something?

Thanks,
Elliott

Make sure that all of your wires are connected, and are connected properly. You wouldn't believe how many people forget to add two remaining wires, and spend 3 months trying to figure out where they screwed up. Also, make sure the wires heading from your amp to your subwoofer is correct. Positive to Positive, and negative to negative. This can give you a lesser amount of power heading to your sub. Hope this helps! Post pictures if you need more help!

Your sub should blast. I've used a similar 12" sub (Stryke AV12 MKII) in my home theater with a 275w amp and it can shake my entire room.

Do you have a DVC or SVC sub? If DVC did you wire the coils in series or parallel?

The ***** on your LOC (line out converter) adjust the signal level. More than likely, they are just variable resistors. Turn them up. What speaker wires feed your converter?

You have a gain setting. That's the input level on the amp. Crossover frequency should be turned to the highest setting for this test. We will adjust it later. Bass boost should NEVER, EVER be used. Put it at the minimum setting.

MAYBE Your convertor has one of the inputs out of phase. turn those outputs on the convertor up too if htey're not already.

Elliot, are you running a line level convertor? Do what 19psi said. Also your amp should be set to low level input (the line level converts the high level to low level)

sometimes those cheap llc's come broken right out the package. When I did car stereo back in the day, we had to send them back all the time. Also, if you're out of phase (negative/positive reversed) you'll have that issue as well. Is it a prefab box? Make sure your in phase from the amp to the box and from the inside of the box to the woofers.

I doubt it's the phase because even if the subs are out of phase there will still be plenty of sound from the subs but the bass will just be almost nonexistant.

I suspect it's the LLC. Make sure it isn't broken and set the level correctly. On the amp just for testing purposes set the gain to about half way and set the crossover to Full. If there's a bass boost turn it all the way down. You should atleast get some sound set up this way and go from there.
