which one of you guys run free air subs int the rear deck?
I dont know how it would sound but i was just wondering how many of you guys like it? I like it as far as less trunk space taken.
Im a fan of ed products and never had a problems with them. I still got some of their old school products sitting in my room. Waiting til the day i get me a GS.
i got me a avionixx 440.4 for my 4 channel, a avionixx 800.2 for my sub, and the E12A with the white cone on it My HU is a alpine 7998 and boston proseries comps all the way around. I love my set up and the e12a. i have never owned a sub so great. But anyways i know how well the SQ is and the performance is from that sub in a sealed box. IT is GREAT!
But how welll is the ed's sq10 sub or just another sub in the stock location. i know i cant compare sealed to free air or the models alone but i would love to hear that sub and get everyone elses opinion about going IB from sealed.
anyways LMK whatsup thanks!

IB subs are just large, sealed subs. So large that the enclosure doesn't color the sound of the driver.
The old A series is a great sub but is really overkill for an IB. The TC-9 motor has more than enough excursion for IB but is really too much motor for anything but 15" or 18" drivers in an IB. I'm building an IB in my home theater using TC-9 motors (they have an ED 12A.22 sticker on each one) paired up with a Fi Car Audio 18" recone kit. The stiffer suspension of my recone along with the weight of the 18" cone and the 60mm voice coil winding all work together for a great IB driver. Find the T/S parameters for your old A and I'll run some simulations through Unibox.
