Default nakamichi died...sort of

Today I turned on the radio and it started out ok. After a few moments it started POPPING loudly. Could hear the music between the pops. Did it on FM1, FM2 and AM. All volumes. This afternoon it played ok for awhile then went to popping again. I really like that radio. Anybody have a clue?

Thanks,

John

Mine goes pop once, then i don't get sound. Head unit stays on and shows acts normally, just no sound. I have no idea what's going on, perhaps someone can shed light for both of us.

If you speakers wires are not properly connected you could get a popping noise, or if you speakers are wired to amplification poorly could cause popping.

Default Popping

This is a steady pop pop pop with the music just bits and pieces in between the pops. Goes on until I turn the radio off. I know what the speaker pop sounds like and this is close to that. Also, if the radio is turned of and on in any system, the radio will take a moment to come on. With this popping the delay isn't there cause the music is right there between the popping. Maybe two or three pops per second. Unusable radio! I miis her. Help!

Its the amplifier usually, (In the headunit) -- Not much you can do about it, aside from putting in an aftermarket deck.

You could pull your factory unit out, and check the wiring, but other than that, I'm afraid the Deck is just going bad. I've had the same thing happen in several different vehicles (non-lexus).
