I tried the search 1st, but didn't see anything related. I have a 1999 LS400.
I had new Infinity rear speakers and Alpine deck installed at Cartoys, and notice a pop when the brakes are applied; there is also a slight constant hum coming from them as well. I had a brand new Lanzar amp hooked up to the speakers as well. I never noticed a hum form the factory speakers and definitely no pop when I hit the brakes.
I talked to Cartoys and they said that the install has nothing to do with the brakes, and they said to take it to Lexus to see what the problem could be. Cartoys said they would pay the bill if it was found that they did something improperly.
I would like to avoid going through Lexus at this time, are there any suggestions that I can bring up to Cartoys to take a look at?
Thanks for your help

Well, it's switching noise from the brake switch. How it's getting into your system will take some investigation (power cable, RF, ground loop). Does it happen on all audio sources? Given the hum you're hearing, it sounds like it's fixable but that's what the car stereo dealers are there to figure out, not Lexus (they won't have a clue). Take it back to Cartoys or find another installer.
