i actually just ran my remote to the ignition fuse in the fusebox on the bottom left driverside corner

You can tap it in anything....

But what are you trying to operate? Realize that the remote wire is like your on/off switch. your _____ will only turn on when the device that sends the 12v signal is on. Heck you can even hook up amp by tapping the wire into the windshield wipers. However you can only turn on your ______ if your windshield wiper is on.

Let us know what you need to run.

for an amp...i just did not want to run a wire all the way up from the dash/fuse box if there was an easy remote tap in the trunk...

I temporarily tapped a ignition controlled power wire on the NAV unit in my trunk. It worked fine but created some lines on the NAV screen at idle only. I don't suggest it for a long term solution.

There really isn't much electronics in the trunk so, you might end up running a line back there.
