Default SC300 Alarm stops car from starting

Help! I just bought a 1993 SC300 in fairly poor body condition, I drove it halfway home and stopped to do something. When I came back and stuck they key in the drive side lock, the alarm went off and I couldn't start the car! The alarm went off when I went in and turned the ignition, but no starter.

I had to get a ride home and left the car in the parking lot. Is there anyway for me to get the car running again?

My Situation:
-I don't have the key fob or button on key.
-There is no alarm disable switch in the lower dash, previous owner got rid of it.
-The passenger side lock is ripped out, likely by a would be thief.

Can I get lexus to issue me a key fob or am I out of luck? Are there any tricks to get the car to "reset"?

Thanks

the only way to set the factory alarm is to use the remote or the lock button. when you use the remote the system is armed right away. when you lock it, it takes a bit for it to set.

the sure fire way to turn off the factory alarm is to stick the key into the door and unlock it.

if you get into the car and try to start it and it simply doesnt crank and alarm goes off take the key out of the ignition and stick in the door. tuurn it to unlock. from drivers door if you turn once it unlocks drivers door only and if you turn twice it unlocks both. turn it twice while alarm is going off and it should turn it off and youre good to go.

hope it helps. let us know what happens.

What happened was the previous seller unhooked the connector to the key lock (among other things) and I guess he never locked it from then on, so he had no problems.

But you were right, once I hooked it back up, I unlocked the door twice and the car finally started.

thanks for your help!

new project car here I come
