Exclamation Difference Between Headunits

I'm trying to find out the difference between these two DVD/NAV Headunits so I can see whether or not its worth it to spend the $$$$ to get. I'm looking at the Kenwood DNX5120 and the Kenwood DNX7120. If anyone can tell me any differences to be aware of, please let me know ASAP! I'm trying to order one or the other today for my install for 4th of July weekend.

just go on kenwood website and look up the specs on both or do a side by side comparison. you will see whats extra on one and missing on the other.

btw why kenwood?

Not much...the 5-series have smaller screen and just 2 pre outs...and thats about it really

I dont understand why you wont get the top-specced model in the US, The DNX8220BT: http://www.kenwood-electronics.co.uk...ion/DNX8220BT/

* Its got 5v pre outs...a must-have if your going to play real loud
* 2 x USB (or iPod)...instead of just one shared USB/iPod.
* Time alignment...again...a must have..if your interested in getting the best out of your soundsystem.

Ive had this unit for a few months now...and i couldnt be happier about it...

I'll start by answering you first. When it comes to getting an aftermarket setup for a Navi, from what I've read Kenwood is the best company to go with function wise. They're the only company that offers Garmin based navigation. I have friends who've gone with other units, which I'll admit look very nice- but they say when it comes to mapping out directions, they're lacking a little.

To address you, I did end up going with the DNX7120 for the option of 3 outputs (the 5 series only has 2 outputs), and a larger screen. Plus I can upgrade the screen to load up car pictures etc. To answer your question about the DNX8220BT (which I admit does appear to be very nice), it appears to be the UK version of our 8 series. In the states we have a DNX8120 and that's the nicest one I've seen so far in the US. As far as upgrades from the 7 series I ordered, the only difference however was a built in blue tooth. Considering I found it for sale for 400 US Dollars more expensive than the one I just ordered, I figured I'd go for the 7 series and just order my own bluetooth kit for 1/4 of the price difference.
