i have a 1992 lexus sc300 and the radio says toyota on it instead of lexus. the plugs connecting it to the body of the car do not look like they were tampered with at all as no cuts or elecricat tape jobs anywhere on the harness. so my question is do the earlier model sc300s radios say toyota instead of lexus on them?

Well.... seeing i dont own a SC not yet anyways i will be owning one in coming months.. but ya anyways it could just be that since lexus is owned by toyota that they use the same company for radios?

yes i do know this and i sold it as a stock radio in the for sale section and i am getting hastled by the new onwer that it is ment for a toyota as it says toyota just want some other people to chime in and say its 100% stock

there were a couple different plug setups on them even tho the face looks the same.
I have 2 cassette radios that look identical on the front but the plugs are totally different. And the 1 c/d radio I have is different too.
But all 3 of mine are made by Toyota not Lexus. Cause Lexus doesn't build cars they only rebadge cars.
Same with Infinity and Acura. They are really Nissan and Honda.

the face i had was cd up top and the tape underneith and on the face itself it said toyota, i know a friend had the same setup also on a 1992 sc300 as out interiors were identical except color i just would liek to be certin others have had this also

I've taken many radios out of MANY Lexus and even more Toyota cars. I am speaking of the sticker on the actual metal chasis of the radio once it's removed. The face of the radio doesn't mean much in the world of electronics, just appearance. I can never remember a Lexus' radio saying anything but Toyota on it. Unless, of course, it were the Pioneer amplified system.... Or, there is a Matisikuma?(spelling) or something like that that is also an amplified system that comes in the SCs. Trust me, if anyone knew, it would be me. I do this all day every day. I put anything into cars and take everything out. Tell this guy (the new owner) to give it a break. If all else fails, call the dealership and have them confirm it. I will guarantee that they will tell you the same thing that I have just written up. GL. Let us know what happens!!

The lights say Toyota, the wiring says Toyota, pretty much everything on out cars says Toyota

If he wants the radio to say Lexus.......send it to me, I'll have my 5yr old scribble Lexus on it and I will ship it to the guy. Or this guy didn't take his stupid pill for the day. Better yet, he should just go buy a Kia or something since he doesn't know ***** about cars.
