Default avic d2 help and questions...

So let me get this straight.. I am in the process of installing this avic d2 player for my car and I have Nakamichi. in order to complete the bypass, i already hooked up the speed sensor wire, grounded the parking brake light wire, and it powers up fine. however, i am wondering if i need to connect the reverse light wire too or just not use it. i need to get to my trunk for the RCA's to my subs for the deck anyway so i figure i will do it later.

also, I am trying to bypass the navi so i can watch dvd's, however, is the headunit capable of playing dvd's in and of itself? i searched all day and night for a mod to use the DVD player in the headunit to play dvd's but i cant find it. Do i need an external player?? PLEASE HELP!!

i followed this other link to the pdf but it says that the fader control cannot be used if i follow this method. what do you think?

i installed everything else except for the speaker wires, rca cables, and reverse light wire for now.. anyone have experience in this?

does anyone also have a east coast dvd disc on hand that i can burn or borrow in the east coast?? any help would be greatly appreciated!

it does not play dvds. you will need an external dvd player or a ps2 or equivalent.
