I've read numerous threads about the new VAIS unit and how well it works, but I've seen a couple of threads about the factory NAV system limiting the number of artists......for example, only being able to access artists A through K, the rest from L to Z not showing up b/c of a "number of artists" limitation.

The vehicle is an 08 GS350 w/NAV, but no ML system. Does anyone have any feedback on this before I start loading up the 160 GB ipod?? I was planning on arranging based on artist/album.

I don't know about the Vais one, but I have the USA-SPEC and have around 300 artists on my Ipod and I can see them all on the screen.

You know, I've heard the same thing. Have you heard of the new Dice unit? I purchased the Dice unit and the kit has unlimited playlist, along with browsing, artist, and song. Im also getting full text display. The kits working great so far, without affecting NAV. Check it out!

I'm not sure really what to believe, I'm probably going to call VAIStech and see if they have a concrete answer for me before I buy anything. I don't have a ridiculous amount of artists......if I had to guess it would be between 100 to 200, so I believe I'll be ok, that's not that many. If I had 10,000 artists because I wasn't using the compilation playlists, then I could maybe understand, but most of my setup would be for example: AC/DC....and I'll have all of their albums, AEROSMITH.....etc. etc..., so I won't have 10,000 artists each with 2 songs. It would take too long to scroll through all of that anyway.
