will the factory changer still work with aftermarket head unit?

the factory cd changer was made by pioneer so can be converted to plug into aftermarket pioneer ip bus headunits.

ok so if i wanted to change to nav i should go with pioneer if i want to keep changer

Correct, I was looking at a Pioneer Avic just because of this. I haven't had the money as of yet, but I loved the idea of keeping my changer installed.

same here. lexusaudio gave me the idea. just bought me a avic d3. just not sure what to do with the ip bus cable. i believe im suppose to just connect it to the back of the head unit into the cd changer? not sure exactly
