I'm pretty much assuming I have a blown tweeter on the passenger side, but wanted to see if anyone else had an opinion (and if anyone had an opinion on replacement).

A certain range of higher-end vocals on all sorts of music seems to cause the speaker to sound almost like pure static, and I put my head in front of the other speakers, and none of them exhibit this problem. Blown speaker?

If so, can I just replace it and call it good? I know nothing about car audio. I love the Nakamichi system overall, but this is getting irritating. Any ideas? Thanks!

I've had this type of symptom before in a different "American Made" vehicle. It turned out to be a blown tweeter.

One way to be sure is find your Nak amp and switch the speaker leads (I know, requires a little cutting, splicing and quick disconnects) but if the symptom moves to the other side, then it is the amp, or if it stays, then the tweeter is faulty.

Thanks for the advice, but I was hoping for a little less hands-on approach Anyone have an idea where I can get a replacement? I'm not even going to bother calling Lexus, since it'll probably be $500...
