My Amp is hot to the touch?
I had some time to burn after parking my car today before I needed to attend to an event, I went to the trunk(to check my amp that's been sliding around) and sure enough the box that was infront of it had moved and the amp had slid slightly and I was jawdropped..My amp was hot to the touch..like sorta really hot...
I'm running 8Gauge Power Wire and a 6 Guage ground..........
* Rockford Fosgate Power P3002
* 75x2 RMS at 4 ohms
* 150x2 RMS at 2 ohms
* 300x1 RMS at 4 ohms
I bridged it
And I set my subwoofer in 2 Ohm mode
The subwoofer is

Uhm you left out a BIG part of the specs.
* 75 W x 2 @ 4 Ohms RMS
* 150 W x 2 @ 2 Ohms RMS
* 300 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms bridged RMS
If you bridged it and are running your woofer in 2 ohm mode. Then your overloading your amp. Which would explain why your amp feels unusually hot. Eventually it will fail.
Your amp is actually a pretty good brand but its being paired with very bad brand sub, Its a shame. Even if you ran 400 watts rms into that sub, it still wouldnt hit hard. You would be better of getting 2 mtx T4512-44. You would push more air with 2 subs, they are a better brand, so they will sound better. And then you will can wire them up for a 4 ohm load.

Ah...didnt see that...
A 2x4ohm sub can only be wired either as 2 or 8ohms, and as has been stated here earlier, thats no good when your amp is bridged.
An RF Power amplifier can handle this...BUT...it is not recomended...

I''ve never heard anything good about them. All i know is JL has the best subs. MTX is better then audiobahn but not JL good. Rockford fosgate is a really good brand for amps but i think their subs aren't great.

8g wires are fine for that watt range but I recommend running the same gauge for both the + and - while keeping the - as short as possible.
Like someone mentioned the amp is getting excessively hot because you are bridging it into a 2 load which your amp isn't designed for. I'm surprise the amp hasn't gone into protection or failed on you yet.
3 options for you:
1. Unbridge the amp and run it on 1 ch. You'll get less power but wont kill your amp.
2. Buy another of same sub. 2 4ohm DVC subs if wired correctly will give you 4ohm. Each sub will only get ~150w but again it wont burn out on you.
3. Buy a mono amp made specifically for subs. Most of these can go down to 1 or 2ohm loads. Or buy a different sub with a 4ohm rating (4ohm SVC or 2ohm DVC).

The JL home versions (Fathom), at $3000+ each, are very impressive performers and are built with W7 technology:
