1997 ES 300 Audio setup....
Hey all.
I have just bought an ES300s (ie base model) with the standard h/u (tuner/tape). It has a button on it to select the (in my case non-existant) CD stacker.
Short of pulling out the h/u and starting from scratch, i have two options:
Option 1. obtain an aftermarket cd stacker and install in the space in the glovebox area that the factory one that goes into.
Problem A: Can i buy the stacker and if so, where. Who makes them? Pioneer? etc etc. Is there much chopping required to install the stacker?
Problem B: is the power and audio wiring from the h/u to the stacker location pre installed (ie part of the factory loom)?
Option 2: Is there an easyish way to connect an iPod to the existing audio system so that when i hit the CD button on the h/u it selects the iPod?
If it makes any difference i am in Australia (not sure if the audio systems are very different down here).
I am pretty cool with wiring stuff up, and know one end of the soldering iron from the other.
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Peter.
