Installing Pioneer Avic into my SC400 the right way... Questions...
#16
I'm trying to install one in my sc300 as well.
I was told you have to run the amp wires to the amp itself in the trunk, is that true or are you just gonna use the rca converter from radio shack?
Is there any step by step guide to doing this? I couldn't find anything.

Okay I lied. I was not able to get it working at all. For some reason when hooked up, the sub is controlled by the rear output on the headunit, not the sub output. I bought a new amp.
Peter_95 and I went through hell trying to make it work

to be honest.. i have a pioneer avic also, just installed it recently.. i actually cover the whole double din area with a cardboard (when im parked on my driveway), it clearly looks like you're trying to hide something.. but i'd rather take my chances with that than have people looking at it as they walk by.. i guess it also helps that my car is all stock on the exterior for now, so they might not suspect a double din.. either way, you can't do much

What sub output are you referring to? Do you mean you tried connecting from the sub output on your aftermarket stereo to pins 1 and 5 in socket D of the wiring diagrams? The only signals that are sent from the factory Pioneer unit to the sub amp are the Sub+, Sub-, mute signals through Socket D. Please try to clarify what you tried. Thanks!
