ive been trying to connect my ipod to my 2000 gs300 for the longest time already. ive tried places like bestbuy for a new deck and all that but ive had many problems saying that my year gs300 is very hard and complicated to do due to the factory stereo.
but i found this website www.kaizenmotoring.com and they offer a kit that can play my ipod through the factory stereo. this is perfect but i just wanted to see what you guys thought about it.
and ive been told that the 00 and 01+ stereos are different so the 00 year is really hard to do but this site offers a kit that does it. the GROM Audio IPOD Car Kit Toyota / Lexus.
does anyone have experience with this? thanks

I had one of these units in my Toyota Tacoma. It works fine and comes in two modes where you can operate it from your HU but is limited to 5 playlist named TOYOTA1 TOYOTA2 TOYOTA3, etc... (you get the picture) and the other mode is operated from your iPod. You select the mode on the dip switches on the unit.
It worked fine and makes the iPod work just like the stock CD player only the CDs are playlists. You can fast forward or forward to the next song easily from the HU (but still limited to the 5 playlists). I was pleased with the unit (just not my stock Tacoma radio). I have since moved to a Pioneer HU which has a separate AUX for my iPod. Needless to say the sound is far superior and iPod access is great.

I don't see the 00 gs300 listed on the application chart for the "GROM Audio IPOD Car Kit Toyota / Lexus" at http://www.kaizenmotoring.com/
I do see the 01-08 GS300 listed though.
