Help Adding Amp to Mark Levinson
I planned on adding a Kicker 600.1 amp to my factory system. I heard that I can buy a line out input and attach it to the factory subwoofer output. I have a local dealer offering to sell me a RE-Q 5 for $200 +. He said that it would make a bigger difference than using a $25 adapter. What are your thoughts about this. Should I buy this adapter and install it myself or just pay a local shop $200 and let them use a $25 adaptor? The local dealer tells me that the more expensive line output adapter will allow me to have more bass then the cheaper adapter. Any suggestions.

i spent about 10 bucks on the 2 channel line out converter that is used on my sub. before i picked up the cheap line out used a friends jl audio converter (150-200 i think). with bass i can hear no difference, i'm sure with highs/mids it would be difference in sound quality

Thanks. Was the install easy? Can I connect the cheap line out converter to the stock subwoofer input like I would the more expensive one or do I need to tap it into the back of the radio.
