Sub upgrade
Ok, so i love the way my car's speakers sound...but i would like just a tad more bass without adding tons of weight to the car, and without spending tons...what would be my best option? (im very ignorant when it comes to sound systems...in cars at least) Could i just get an amp and replace my stock sub with a bigger one? or just an amp?
Thanks
And yes...i can keep my car..i ran into some money

i've upped the wattage going to the stock sub, didn't sound to grand. upgrading the stocker means going with another ib (no box) sub. their are pro's and cons, pros being no box less weight, cons being limited range which is effected by what you carry in the trunk.
where the sub mounts is sturdy enough to remove the stock sub and replace it with a 10 in a small slim enclosure mounted to it. that coupled with a nice matching amp would produce tons of bass, keep your trunk space, and not weigh much

I'm not sure if it would fit or not (it is a standard frame 10" driver, but the OEM Lexus 10 is a bit different), but a great IB 10" driver is this one: http://www.diycable.com/main/product...roducts_id=674 It is specifically designed for IB applications and it also utilizes an XBL^2 enabled motor which means the sound will stay cleaner, longer (over stroke, that is).

I'm not sure about an is-f. You'll have to check the impedance on your factory subwoofer. If it measures (if you have a DMM) or is rated at (maybe in a manual) the same impedance as the Exodus woofer than you're good to go. What you can't do is throw a 1 Ohm sub on an amp that is rated for 4 Ohm mono only because you'll send the amplifier into protect or you'll ruin the amplifier depending on how good the protection circuit is on the amp.
