Help with sub amp, 1999 LS400
I replaced my stock 8" pioneer sub with an aftermarket Kicker C8 sub like a lot of people use. It is 30-100 watts RMS, 200 watts peak power, 4 ohm.
The problem is that the stock lexus sub amp is 50w 2ohm, so that kicker is getting underpowered because of the ohm difference.
1. can someone suggest a good amp for this? would I be looking for a 2 channel 50W amp? Not looking to spend a ton.
2. Where exactly is the amp for the sub...is this something fairly easy to change (take connections and re-use) or something better left to a shop?
Thanks

on #2, found that it was beside sub to left in trunk, didn't pull back carpet but that looks easy enough.
This amp looks just about perfect:

EDIT: I noticed a post saying if i remove the stock sub amp, my CD changer won't work....will that matter if I've hardwired an mp3 player into the stock main amp anyway, and don't use CDs?
Does anyone have pics of the stock sub amp? can the lines running to it be reused for an amp like the one above, or should I get a clean install as auxillary and leave the other amp alone? (but not run to sub?)
Thanks in advance.

Update: Got that kicker 100w amp, it matches to the sub fine.
Installed at best buy, then the guy tries to give me a lecture about my speaker not being "free air" and how it rattles the deck really bad. So I get out the box and show him where it says free-air, then the picture in the manual showing that speaker being used in a stock, rear-deck setting. ************g amateur, but I didn't have time to mess with it.
Anyway, now I have a loud enough sub but the 100w vs. 50w stock is too much for the rear deck area, lots of rattles. Can someone explain the best way to muffle/dynamat to get the best free-air bass sound w/o being driven crazy by the deck shaking?
Thanks
