If it follows basic physics laws (which it doesn't between 1 and 2 ohms), it should put out 300 watts @ 8 ohms, would allow you 1200 watts @ 1 and 2 ohms, and 600 watts @4 ohms. If you decide to get that amp, go on eBay, look up the model number (bp1200.1 to be exact), and find the seller scala1. He has the cheapest prices on the net and you get a full warranty with all products.

What do you mean .....It seems these the JL amp and JL speaker were ment to be. Perfect match up........Right?

I wouldn't say that any sub and amp combination are "made for each other", excluding maybe MMATS -their Juggernaut subs have dual 1.4 ohm VC's and their D100HC puts out max power @ .65 ohms.

Exclamation IB Sub

Eng - Not sure that the JL RIPS electronics works above 4 ohms? It's designed to put out the same power in any impedance load between 1 - 4 ohms so I'd guess it will act as an unregulated amp once U go above a 4 ohm impedance. Anyway, since U seem set on an IB style sub ( & I'd guess looking for just a basic audio upgrade w/o giving up trunk space ), consider the Pioneer VCCS series subs. They R 4 ohm SVC free-airs ( check with www.crutchfield.com for more specs ) & will easily handle the JL 250.1's power. I've heard a 10" & 12" with a RF 360a2 on it & they were impressive for an IB sub. Choose well!!

Just purchased the JL 250/1 and the JL 12 IB4. If this setup doesn't hit hard enough.....I will get the Pioneer. Thanks everyone for all the good advice. I will post the install in 2 weeks!
