Default Why use CDs?

I just had a thought about MP3 players. Since most everyone in the US has one, wouldn't it be easier to store the thousands of songs in the MP3 player library and hook it up to the "AUX" input in the Lexus vehicles? All Lexus sedans and SUVs have them. It saves time burning CDs over and over and over again and all the songs you ever love is right there ready to be played. For those that aren't into portable MP3 players, well, this doesn't apply to them I guess. The adapters are super cheap and you can even get them at Walmart for like $7. I would leave the cable plugged in to the Aux for easy connection to my Sansa.

Yea its much easier, however the reason that a cd would be better (and NOT recorded in mp3 form) is due to the loss of quality when the files are compressed. If you hear a track in regular mp4 form (I think thats what regular cd's are in) then listen to it on mp3 you will hear a little difference, if you're not into extreme sound quality, who cares right! There just a bit of difference, but for everyday listening, not really a big issue... at least IMO.

Default Why use MP3 Players?

my car plays mp3 burned cd's... i dont have to have the tangle of wires in my center arm rest, risk my mp3 player getting stolen, worry about my batteries dying in the mp3 player, all that attaching of the plug eventually will mess up the plug or the hole or the wiring inside the hole from all the movement, risk dropping my mp3 player from carrying it around, i live in hawaii i never drive long enough to listen to an entire burned mp3 cd much less half of one and i have 6 loaded in the player...

this argument works both ways... btw, my mp3 player is now collecting dust next to my monitor

I have a tiny little Sansa that I use in the center console. But the only thing is that I have to make sure the battery level is kept up, lol.

who burns CDs anymore...it's all about DVD mp3s. I burn multisession so that I don't waste resources and I don't really acre about quality so long it's not chopped and screwed or censored
