I would be interested in doing this but it would be on a UK spec vehicle and therefore there is a chance that the unit may be configured differently.

With this in mind, would anyone be kind enough to tell me what specific functions the wires being cut are supposed to serve ? I am far from an expert on this subject but I hope it is something my car audio guy may be familiar with and that he may be able to retrace the process even if the unit is configured differently.

Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated, thus far nobody has responded in the other thread
