Question Looking to replace my 4" Nakamichi speakers - any suggestions? How about this Vifa..?

One of the Nakamichi 4" drivers on the rear deck of my SC400 blew, so this weekend, I removed the rear seat and rear deck panel and yanked it out. Temporarily, I put in an Infinity RS 63 6.5" speaker, which sounds fine.

So now I am looking for a suitable replacement. Looking at my fav speaker source (partsexpress.com), I came across this 5" Vifa http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/psho...tnumber=299-246

They have a whizzer cone just like the original Nak drivers, and at $15-$19 each, they sure appear to be a bargain. The only thing that concerns me is the efficiency rating of 92 dB. It is likely the original Naks had an efficiency in the common range of 88-90db, although I am not sure.

If the replacement drivers are less efficient, I run the risk of them not playing as loud as the originals, or, worse, burning out the stock Nak amp with the increased load. But maybe a few dB doesn't matter that much.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance, and here are the detailed specs off the web page:

Specifications: * Power handling: 70 watts RMS/100 watts max * Voice coil diameter: 1" * Voice coil inductance: .51mH * Impedance: 4 ohms * DC resistance: 2.92 ohms * Frequency response: 65-12,000 Hz * Magnet weight: 14.6 oz. Fs: 91.7 Hz * SPL: 92 dB 2.83V/1m * Vas: .14 cu. ft. * Qms: 3.12 * Qes: .80 * Qts: .637 * Xmax: 4.5mm * Net weight: 1-1/2 lbs. * Dimensions: A: 5-1/8 ", B: 4-7/16 ", C: 2-3/8 ", D: 2-7/8

Efficiency of the driver has nothing to do with what load the HU's amp sees or the power it puts out, only how the speaker handles the power that is given to it. All you should have to worry about is keeping the speakers impedence equal to or greater than the previous speakers that the HU powered. I wouldn't hesitate to buy those speakers, though. Looks like a really good value...

The dB's MATTER. You don't want to replace one speaker that has a rating of 93db and keep the stocker at 89db. The higher efficiency one will definitely play louder. 4 db is very noticable. Best bet...buy a pair of them. That way they'll match. The impedance looks good at 4 ohms. That's what most automotive speakers are rated for. But, check the blown speaker just in case it says 2 ohms. The GS front speakers are 2 ohms but am not sure for your car.
